Sliding Scale pricing
Why We Use Sliding Scale Pricing
We believe local, ethically grown flowers should feel more accessible.
Flower farming is labor-intensive and expensive, and we know that financial situations vary widely from person to person.
Our sliding-scale CSA model is a small attempt to make seasonal flowers available to a broader range of people while still supporting the farm's long-term sustainability.
This system is imperfect, evolving, and built on trust.
How The Pricing Tiers Work
Each CSA offers multiple pricing options, but every member receives the same flowers regardless of the tier selected.
Thanks a Bunch! For those who feel financially comfortable paying a little extra to help support accessibility within the CSA program.
A-Bouquet! The standard pricing tier for those feeling relatively stable and comfortable paying the regular cost of the CSA.
Bee Kind! A lower pricing tier intended for people who could use a little additional support and flowers right now.
A More Direct Explanation
Essentially, folks who select the higher pricing tier help offset the lower pricing tier and make the CSA more accessible overall.
How We Calculate Our Prices
Flower farming involves a surprising amount of materials, infrastructure, and labor - seeds, bulbs, corms, compost, irrigation, soil amendments, tools, equipment, electricity, packaging, and many hours of physical work throughout the season.
Our pricing reflects the real costs of growing flowers on a small scale while trying to keep local flowers financially attainable whenever possible.
Is This A Perfect System?
No.
This is simply one approach we are experimenting with as we continue learning how to build a farm business that reflects our values around accessibility, sustainability, and community support.
We expect this system to evolve over time as the farm grows.
