Alpen Sundown is a fun color that is surprisingly useful in design work. Blooms have a butter cream yellow base, but edged with plum with a deep plum center. Color can shift throughout the season, making it feel intimately connected to climate & place. Plants aren’t too tall but throw nice, tall, clean stems.
Why we grow it: That unusual buttercream palette works beautifully as a bridge between blush, peach, coral, yellow and deeper raspberry tones. It’s especially useful when you want something more nuanced than a straightforward orange or pink dahlia.
